The footway of the A752 was supposed to be upgraded to be part of NCN route 755 south of Gartcosh, but this has still to happen. However, it is now part of the Seven Lochs Trail and still has obstructions like this boundary sign post.
The presumed shared-use footway alongside the road up to Palacerigg Country Park doesn't have a dropped kerb opposite Tannoch Road, making it difficult to join from the side road.
Extremely poor finishing at the expansion joint at the north end of the Eurocentral bridge over the M8 motorway.
The cyclepath doesn't run directly to the toucan crossing, necessitating sharp turns, when the desireline is across open land.
If you can't read the sign next to the bridge, and don't know which side of this barrier to pass, no worries - it's pointing the wrong way anyway! See also #97669 and #99654.

The foot and cycle bridge over the M8 motorway and A8 dual carriageway to the Showcase Cinema and Kirkwood, but why the gate?
The Cumbernauld Cycle Network's route 1 turns along this path to Craigmarloch, but there's no dropped kerb at the entrance. The 'No Through Road' sign could do with an 'except cycles' plate.
A poor connection between the path around Strathclyde Loch and the exit from Strathclyde Park towards Bothwell.
No road crossing of Mary Rae Road at roundabout with Hamilton Road. On the left in future there will be a shared-use footway alongside the A725 to Raith Interchange.

This path isn't part of Cumbernauld's cycle network, but it is plagued with barriers at every minor road crossing. The raised crossing might have been better installed in line with the path and made into a zebra crossing.

Most of the Cumbernauld Cycle Network has an asphalt surface, but not the section between Croy and Auchinstarry. The cage at this barrier has a muddy puddle at the bottom.

Barriers block the start of the path on the far side of Airdrie Road from Myvot Avenue, despite this being signed as part of the 1f cycle route.
A narrow path made narrower by the lighting columns being planted in the path. This is a signed cycle path.
Barriers across the path. The steps up ahead have a ramp around them, but the route via the Carbrain Gully to the right is a more attractive route for cycling, and they both lead to the town centre.
A short flight of steps on path from Broadwood Loch which could be ramped using the space available.
Kissing gate on North Calder Heritage Trail. There's steps on this path nearby too so maybe of little use to cyclists anyway.
